    EA87 Elastic Suspension Condenser Microphone

    • Principle of operation: pressure gradient transducer
    • Polar diagram: Omnidirectional, cardioid, figure-8
    • Frequency response: 20 Hz - 20 kHz
    • Sensitivity at 1 kHz into 1 kohm: 20/28/22 mV/Pa ± 1 dB (Omni/cardioid/8)
    • Power supply (P48, IEC 61938): 48 V ± 4 V
    • Connection: XLR 3 F
    • The most widely used studio microphone of the past 50 years
    • Linear frequency response across the three polar diagrams
    • Extremely low background noise
    • Classic sound
    • Original EA87 spring suspension included

Certainly one of the most widely used microphones in the world as well as a historic microphone. It features three variable diagrams (omnidirectional, cardioid and figure-of-eight ) as well as a high-pass to eliminate proximity effect and a 10-db attenuator that allows the microphone to work distortion-free up to sound pressures of 127 dB. The U87Ai develops and improves on the traditional U87i. Great flexibility of use in proximity or stereo pairs. Warmth and body on string and wind instruments. Excellent performance on piano and percussion. Unsurpassed in singing and speech.

    Includes suspension EA87
