Harrison Audio MR3eq

Equalizer for System 500 derived from the Harrison MR3eq console.

Originally developed for the Harrison MR3 studio console, the MR3eq is one of Harrison's most popular EQs, renowned for its incisiveness and homogeneity and powerful sound sculpting capabilities. Introduced in 1981, the Music Recording 3 (MR3) console quickly became the instrument of choice for many leading engineers and studios around the world, helping to create some of the most iconic albums of the 1970s and 1980s. Like all Harrison production tools, the MR3 equalizer knows how to inspire artists and enable engineers to excel in precision. Thanks to the MR3eq module, Harrison's distinctive sound is now accessible in the 500 series format.

Legacy in Analog

Harrison consoles have helped create some of the most highly regarded and influential music in history. Michael Jackson, ABBA, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Donald Fagen and many other iconic artists have relied on Harrison production tools to create their multi-platinum albums. Harrison's latest range of 500 series modules harness the sound and features trusted by engineers such as Bruce Swedien, Roger Nichols, and Reinhold Mack to create music that stands the test of time.

Design of the MR3eq

The MR3eq is a high-performance analog equalizer that is the result of decades of experience in equalizer and filter design. The circuit design of this equalizer allows it to perform precision surgical operations or be extremely musical, thanks to the wide interaction between the bands, a feature that can give rich and colorful sounds

3-band parametric with HPF

This powerful three-band parametric equalizer features 6 dB/octave Low and High Shelving filters, which can be switched to 2nd-order Peak filters with Harrison's renowned proportional Q. The midrange band offers continuously variable Q, while the separate high-pass filter section includes a characteristic 3-dB resonant peak. The MR3eq's flexible design and powerful sound-sculpting capabilities make it a versatile tool capable of enhancing a wide range of sources, proving equally effective in both tracking and mixing.
