Key Features

Optical Compression Technology

The heart of the CL 1B is its optical compression technology. This system uses a lamp and photoelectric cell to control the side-chain, delivering smooth dynamic response with automatic attack and release that preserves the integrity of the audio signal. Compared with other compressors, the Tube-tech CL 1B stands out for its musical handling of sound dynamics.

Design and Construction

The design of the Tube-tech CL 1B is as elegant as it is functional. With a sturdy chassis and high-quality components, this compressor is built to last. Its intuitive interface provides easy access to all essential features, making the compression process a user-friendly experience. The tube construction design adds a unique touch of warmth to the audio signal.

Advantages of Using the CL 1B

One of the main advantages of the Tube-tech CL 1B is its ability to improve sound quality without compromising clarity. This compressor is known for its natural, musical sound, making it ideal for applications where sonic fidelity is paramount. In addition, the CL 1B is extremely versatile, capable of handling a wide range of audio material, from vocal tracks to acoustic instruments.

Applications in the Music Industry

Studio Production

In the studio production context, the Tube-tech CL 1B is an irreplaceable ally. Its ability to add dimension and depth on every track on which it is placed makes it especially popular among producers and sound engineers. The most common studio uses are compression of vocals, bass or ambient drum mics.

Live use

Like all tube instrumentation, it should be brought into live performance with extreme care and attention, installing it in a special flight-case set up with springy suspension and well ventilated. However, having the Tube-tech CL 1B live can ensure flawless and extremely natural sounding vocals.

Comparison with Other Optical Compressors

When comparing the Tube-tech CL 1B with other optical compressors, its superiority in sound quality and reliability is immediately apparent. While many compressors can offer effective compression, few can match the warmth and musicality of the CL 1B. In addition, its sturdy construction and innovative design further distinguish it from the competition.

In conclusion, the Tube-tech CL 1B Optical Compressor is an ideal choice for those looking for a high-quality compressor that delivers exceptional performance. Features and Specifications

The TUBE-TECH CL 1B compressor is a tube-based optical compressor. The unit has a gain reduction section, located immediately after the input transformer. It is controlled by the sidechain amplifier, which also contains the two tempo control circuits-one for fixed Attack/Release and one for variable Attack/Release. The two tempo controllers can be used separately or combined. A dedicated Bus switch with three positions (Off, Bus 1, Bus 2) is used when multiple compressors are to be connected together.

The gain reduction section is followed by a push-pull tube amplifier with variable gain up to 30 dB. The input and output transformers have a static shield between the primary and secondary. Both input and output are balanced and fully floating.
