With 6 polyphony voices and as many as 64 Programs at your disposal, you have a vast sonic universe at your fingertips to explore the complex and fascinating textures of frequency modulation synthesis.

At the heart of the Volca FM2 is its 6-operator, 32-algorithm sound engine, a true faithful reproduction of the glorious FM synthesizer era. Its full compatibility with the SysEx patches of the legendary Yamaha DX7 gives you access to a wealth of classic sounds, further expanding your creative possibilities. The 16-step sequencer with Motion Sequencing allows you to record your automations in real time, bringing your patterns to life with dynamism and unpredictability.

A major new feature is the introduction of a reverb, which is added to the already present chorus effect. Both effects can be used simultaneously and adjusted separately, allowing you to sculpt your sound with greater depth and spatiality. The built-in arpeggiator, along with support for touch sensitivity (velocity) via MIDI, opens up new avenues for expressiveness, allowing you to reproduce dynamic nuances that enrich every performance.

Extended connectivity for your setup

Despite its compact size, the Volca FM2 offers comprehensive connectivity to integrate seamlessly into your studio or live setup. New MIDI IN & MIDI OUT ports on 3.5mm TRS mini jack connectors offer greater flexibility. There are also Sync inputs and outputs (3.5mm mono mini jacks) for synchronization with other Volca series devices or other equipment, and a headphone output. With a built-in speaker and battery power, you can take your FM creativity wherever you want with complete freedom.
