• Mic/Line preamplifier with dynamics compressor, Noise Gate and Vu Meter.
• Internal monophonic carrier for the Voiced section with double waveforms: SAW – SQUARE. Possibility of FM and PWM modulation of the VCO via LFO with Frequency and Waveform control
• Internal noise generator for the Unvoiced section
• The instrument is equipped with a USB MIDI interface for CV control of the internal VCO. Responds to “Midi Dump” messages for Freeze control, Pitch Bend and Modulation wheel for Slew control adjustment
• Gain adjustment for Ext Voiced and Ext Unvoiced signals with saturation indicators.
• SLEW control from 0 to Hold via the “Freeze” switch
• Double Voiced/Unvoiced system with the possibility of switching between Switched and Mixed and Threshold adjustment.
• Manual opening of the 22 VCA via "Init Gain" control for using the Vocoder as a 22-band Fixed Filter
• Possibility of shifting from -3 to +3 the connections between the outputs of the 22 Envelope Followers "Analysis Section" and the inputs of the 22 VCA "Synthesis Section" via the "Coupling" switch.
• HP filter for sending the analysis signal to the Mixer of the synthesis section.
• Stereo mixer of the 22 synthesis signals.
• The instrument is equipped with 22 Jacks with Env Foll outputs and 22 normalized Jacks with VCA inputs to allow crossing as desired of the two analysis and synthesis sections.
• “Master Volume” control with Vu Meter
• The “Connections” section has eight Jack connectors: Four Jack Inputs: VCO 1V/Oct, Slew 0/5V, Voiced, Unvoiced

GRP V22 è un vocoder full analog a 22 bande con filtro High Pass dedicato sull'uscita principale e sezione di analisi e sintesi sempre in dominio analogico, il tutto ospitato in un cabinet indipendente con pannelli in legno. La storia del vocoder è unica e particolare, proprio come il suono che ne deriva. Le sue origini risalgono alla fine degli anni '30 del secolo scorso, quando per fini militari Bell Labs sperimentò un sistema di codifica e crittografia delle telecomunicazioni che andava ad analizzare in dettaglio gli elementi fondamentali della voce umana, per poi restituire una nuova voce 'sintetizzata' elettronicamente. Durante la seconda guerra mondiale le forze armate degli Stati Uniti utilizzarono questo sistema per codificare messaggi audio che venivano poi decodificati in ricezione. Nelle successive decadi, questa tecnologia è stata sperimentata anche per applicazioni artistiche musicali, con una particolare predilezione per quelle articolazioni vocali 'robotiche' che trovarono presto ampio spazio in produzioni cinematografiche, televisive e discografiche. Alcuni dei principali artisti che hanno utilizzato questo potente strumento sono senz'altro Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Dr. Dre, Kraftwerk, Daft Punk e molti altri.
