The API ASM164 is a 16-channel analog summing unit that offers high performance in a convenient 19-inch rack-mount format. Built on the rich legacy of API's highest quality recording consoles, with a design inspired by the summing section of THE BOX console, the API ASM164 is designed for professional project studios, home studios, and production facilities of all types. The API ASM164 is designed to deliver API's legendary sound in a compact, efficient and affordable format.

The API ASM164 features 16 analog summing channels with DB-25 balanced line-level connectors. It includes a global bypass of the 0dB channel level control and is equipped with API's exclusive 2510 input op amps. Each channel has a send/return insert, and practical 4-segment LEDs clearly show audio levels on all channels. It has two stereo program bus outputs, Mix-A and Mix-B, and each channel can be assigned to Mix-A, Mix-B, or both.

The front panel of the API ASM164 offers continuously variable panning control with center stop and 31-step level control with clicks. The balanced external stereo input can be assigned to Mix-A and/or Mix-B. At the output, the API ASM164 uses the iconic API 2520 operational amplifiers and proprietary output transformers capable of imparting the classic, recognized, and much-loved API sound that has been beloved for more than half a century by top engineers and music makers around the world.

The back panel of the API ASM164 offers full connections with balanced inputs and outputs, and the external power supply allows for greater flexibility and noise reduction.
