Sibilla is a DSP digital stereo oscillator that aims to translate the beauty and harshness of a semi-brittle mountain into music. Its sound is sculpted by various serrated and sine waves that pass through intricate delay networks, altered by LFOs, white noise and creating constructive and destructive interference. Both stereo channels are the output stages of two audio feedback loops. Each loop consists of a sub-sine wave main oscillator and two saw and sine waves with frequencies affected by harmonic (right channel) and sub-harmonic (left channel) generation. All the waves have different phases whose offset is constantly affected by small variations created by two pairs of grains that randomly fluctuate within the amplitude spectrum of the waves and are sampled at a certain speed. The waves then meet at a common point, along with two sources of white noise, creating constructive and destructive interference constantly influenced by the movements of two LFOs. The interferences are then fed into a resonant low-pass filter and then distributed over four different delay lines from which they are fed back into the audio loops at different time intervals depending on the movements of the grains.
