User-assemblable kit version of analog duophonic synthesizer

  • Keyboard: 37 keys (standard or full size key, no velocity sensitivity, no aftertouch)
  • Real analog audio generated by full replica of original ARP Odyssey circuitry
  • Pitch and Pulse width modulation can be controlled
  • Pitch is variable over a wide range of 20Hz - 2kHz
  • Oscillator Sync provides sharp, big-sounding overtones that extend over a range of high
  • Noise Generatoe providing two types of noise: white and pink
  • Powerful LFO can be used as a modulation source for oscillator or filter, or as a trigger source for sample & hold
  • Ring modulator generates metallic sounds with rich overtones
  • The three types of low-pass filters found on several productions of the original ARP Odyssey are all provided
  • A wide variety of modulation sources such as S/H, LFO, ADSR and AR can be used to modulate the filter
  • A high-pass filter is provided following the low-pass filter, giving even wider sound design possibilities
  • A new function, Drive switch generates extreme and aggressive sounds
  • Two types of envelope generator: ADSR and AR. This can be used not only for VCA but also to modulate the filter or oscillator

ARP ODYSSEY FS Kit is a user-assemblable kit version produced by Korg of the well-known analog duophonic synthesizer from Arp. Based on the analog circuit and with all the original specifications of the Rev. 3, this synth features a full-size 37-key keyboard and a black panel with orange lettering. There are three different low-pass filter circuits that can be selected by a switch. Assembling this Arp Odyssey is easy, thanks to the illustrated guide, and no technical knowledge or soldering is required.

The unique and distinctive sound with the ARP Odyssey FS kit.

In 2015, the ARP sound made a comeback with the re-release of the ARP Odyssey, stunning and delighting synthesizer fans around the world. From the ARP ODYSSEY FS, with its full-sized keyboard, to the long-awaited ARP 2600 FS and ARP 2600 M (click here for info/purchase), ARP synths were once again poised to dominate the music scene and the analog market.

Now, with the arrival of the ARP ODYSSEY FS kit distributed in Italy by Algam EKO, modern musicians have the opportunity to have the ARP legacy, the unique and distinctive sound of analog synthesis, under their fingers. Staying true to the ARP Odyssey FS, the kit uses the same circuitry and offers the original, warm and rich sounds we have all come to love. This instrument features all the original specifications of the Rev. 3 model, with a full-size keyboard and a black panel with orange lettering. For easy assembly of the Odyssey, an illustrated guide is included; no technical knowledge or soldering is required.

The ARP Odyssey FS Kit is a collectible, one-of-a-kind instrument. To confirm the uniqueness of the experience, the instrument is distinguished from any other ARP Odyssey by its own serial number engraved on an elegant metal plate. The coveted ARP sound that legendary musicians have used over the past 50 years returns available for you to enjoy as a sound designer, keyboardist, or music producer.

Full-size ARP ODYSSEY

Featuring a spacious panel with faders that are comfortable to use and a full-size keyboard for excellent playability, this edition of the duophonic analog instrument is just what synthesizer lovers or keyboardists have been waiting for. Its weight and sturdiness represent the accurate image of the original. A full-size ARP ODYSSEY, perfect in detail-from sound to stability, from appearance to size-but with the reliability of a state-of-the-art synthesizer.

The peculiar synthesis of the ARP Odyssey

The original ARP Odyssey was a duophonic instrument with 2 VCOs. Its main characteristic was the crisp, penetrating sound and the rich range of tonal variations that could be generated through the wide range of modulation possibilities offered, from oscillator synchronization to sample & hold, from pulse wave amplitude modulation to high-pass filtering, from the two different envelope generators to pitch bend via PPC.

Three generations of ARP Odyssey in one

There were three versions of the original ARP Odyssey, distinguished by production date and seeing the main difference in the filter circuit. This version of the ARP Odyssey provides all three low-pass filter circuits and allows one to be selected by a dedicated switch. TYPE I (Rev1) is a 12 dB/Oct circuit that produces a crisp, punchy sound. TYPE II (Rev2) is a 24 dB/Oct filter for impressive bass. TYPE III (Rev3) maintains excellent stability even when resonance is increased. These characteristic filters have been reproduced exactly as they were originally.
