Korg modwave module provides all the features of the modwave mkII wavetable synthesizer in 4 19" rack units. Also desktop positionable with two different angles for sitting or standing use.
It is based on the legacy of Korg's DW-8000 transformed into a modern and extremely powerful synthesizer equipped with wavetable oscillators, excellent filters, extremely flexible modulation, rich polyphony, full pattern sequencer; all of which can be controlled immediately and fully to create unique, powerful and easily customizable sounds.
Like the modwave mkII, the modwave module offers a polyphony of 60 stereo voices, nearly double the 32 voices of the original keyboard-based modwave, an unprecedented number for a wavetable synthesizer in this price range. The new 4-unit footprint rack-mount chassis has the same controls as the keyboard models, but is easily transportable and fits perfectly into any setup: studio or live.
Responding to user requests, Korg upgraded all LFOs with free operation, delayed start, and retriggering options. We also added a pre/post switch for reverb sends, new modulation sources and more. The modwave module is fully compatible with sounds and samples from the original modwave, modwave mk II and native modwave software, as well as many third-party libraries.
With the latest software updates, all wavestate models, hardware and software, now support MIDI Property Exchange 2.0. Hundreds of the original factory sounds have been updated to include modulation via Polyphonic Aftertouch (including Channel Aftertouch). All this makes the wavestate module a perfect companion for Korg's Keystage controller.
The modwave module is intelligently designed for both desktop and rack use (4-unit footprint). The dashboard has been redesigned to fit a standard 19" width, and the rear socket panel has been recessed to allow easy access to cables.
Many musicians have requested a module version of the modwave. Now that components are available again after a long period of supply chain disruptions, Korg is pleased to make that request a reality.
