It achieved this with technological advancements such as plug-in crash protection - no more lost presets that took hours to craft, and a highly flexible and graphiclay pleasing user interface. Alongside this was a lightning fast workflow experience, the core of Bitwig, and this applied for keyboard, mouse and touch screens. Now with Bitwig 2, these features are better than ever. Non-Stop Modulation Each device in Bitwig Studio 2, including external plugins have UNLIMITED modulation slots where you can load individual modulators from the extensive range on offer. Bitwig Studio 2 comes with 24 brand new modulators; from standard modulators like envelopes and LFOs - to more crazy modulator types like Random, Select-4 and Math, to give unique movement and character to your sound. Modulators can be assigned to any number of parameters with ease and flexibility, and can even be interconnected for truly dynamic and expressive sound design possibilities. Your imagination really is the limit. True Performance Bitwigs Clip view can be used for live performance, and it's never been easier. Draft out your arrangement beforehand, or do it on the fly - tempo synced playback makes it effortless to add new elements in time with the beat, perfect for that fast paced rhythm to get people moving, or for that extra hit of bass on the drop! VST3 New to Bitwig 2 is the new standard in plugin formats - VST3. This will allow for per-note expression and sample accurate automation, a huge bonus for when detail is the key focus. Displays for Days There have been a lot of enhancements to existing devices, improving both sound quality and usability. A key feature of many devices now include a spectrum analyser and dynamic display panels. This is one of many features that sets Bitwig apart from other products - aspiring for something similar in another DAW would most likely require a separate plugin. Also improved is the visualisation of parameters, movement and signal flow, so it is easier than ever to see what exactly is happening when you twist that dial! Now every device now has a Remote Controls panel, where you can assign remote control access to any parameter in the device (or nested in the device chain). This is similar to Macro controls, as it is more commonly known. Multiple controls, from multiple effects/instruments such as filter cutoff or LFO can be assigned to 1 single dial, for less automation drawing and ease of use. Mappings can now be saved with presets or devices, allowing on-the-fly access to your favorite parameters directly from your hardware controller, when browsing through your library or swapping between devices and tracks. Content Right at Hand An extensively reworked menu system is another new key element. Bitwig Studio 2 now features a context-aware menu system to keep you focused on the task at hand. Depending on your selection, different menus and options will be shown. For instance, when selecting a track, a menu will be shown with all available related actions. To speed up your workflow even further, you can pin actions so they are always visible in the menu bar. Multiple Projects One feature that sets Bitwig apart from everything else is the ability to open multiple projects at a single time.
