Apollo x16D Essential+, the studio and live elite with 16 Dante channels, Apollo audio quality, HEXA Core processing and real-time UAD plug-ins.

Apollo x16D is the ideal choice for both live and modern network-connected recording studios, thanks to the characteristic audio quality of the Apollo series and the ability to take advantage of real-time UAD plug-ins through Thunderbolt and Dante connections.

This outstanding unit allows you to manage and record live performances with access to a wide selection of plug-ins for a total of 28 UAD Plug-Ins, including renowned emulations of Neve, SSL, Auto-Tune, along with the famous LA-2A and 1176 compressors.

Apollo x16D is designed for those working with live audio and for studios equipped with network recording systems. With its 16 Dante channels, high-class audio conversion, and the impressive power of the HEXA core DSP processor, this unit ensures smooth execution of UAD plug-ins in real time.

With its advanced digital mixing engine, Apollo x16D simplifies workflow by allowing you to control inputs, outputs, and plug-ins. Configuring the mix becomes a quick and intuitive process, and you can store and recall plug-in settings via MIDI easily.

Up to four Apollo x16D units can be connected to create a Dante networked audio system supporting up to 64 channels. This configuration offers the advantageous feature of network redundancy, improving the security and stability of the audio environment. In addition, those who already own an Apollo Thunderbolt system can expand its boundaries by using Dante technology, which is known to be one of the most robust and lowest latency audio networking solutions available on the market today.

Two types of connections are required to connect an Apollo x16D to a host computer:

• Thunderbolt connection: you need to connect the Apollo x16D to the computer via a Thunderbolt cable. You can serially connect Apollo devices, including Apollo x16Ds, to the host computer in any order.
• It is important to note that the series of Apollo devices must only be connected to a Thunderbolt port on the host computer.
• Ethernet network connection: the Apollo x16D must be connected to the computer via an Ethernet cable, which can be connected directly or through a Dante-compatible Ethernet switch. An Ethernet adapter for the host computer may be required to make this connection.
