Based on the concept of our award-winning xMac mini Server for Mac® mini, Sonnet's xMac Pro Server securely encloses your computer in a tightly integrated 16" deep rackmount enclosure, incorporates PCIe card expansion with three PCIe 2.0 slots and 20 Gbps Thunderbolt™ 2 technology, and offers the ability to add peripherals if you have one of Sonnet's mobile rackmount device kits.

If you are a professional video or audio user with a Mac Pro (late 2013), you will know that its compact size makes the computer more transportable and rack-mountable, but prevents the integrated installation of PCIe expansion cards. In addition, the computer still needs an enclosure that makes it road- or rack-ready and provides convenient cable management.

Sonnet's xMac™ Pro Server enclosure solves these problems and greatly increases the potential of a Mac Pro. With extraordinary expansion capabilities, an easy-to-maintain modular design, and support for a wide range of mobile racks, carts, and portable rack enclosures, xMac Pro Server is the perfect solution for expanding a Mac Pro (late 2013).

Rear Panel Mount Cables
Panel mount cables (HDMI, two Gigabit Ethernet, three USB 3.0, a 3.5 mm audio [output or input], and power) connect the ports on the back of each Mac Pro to the ports on the back of each computer mounting module for convenient external connection connectivity.

New faceplate and thumbscrew design.
Because of the active electronics contained in each end of a Thunderbolt cable, there are no panel mount connectors for Thunderbolt cables; Thunderbolt cables must be connected directly to the computer. Sonnet has updated xMac Pro Server to make this task and access to PCIe cards easier. The screws on the back of the enclosure have been replaced with captive thumbscrews, and the faceplate has been split in two (with each faceplate remaining attached to its respective module), allowing each module to be attached, released, and removed without the need for tools .
