Milk Audio Store is now a Sequential Center The Company, founded by the legendary instruments designer (and Grammy Award winner) Dave Smith.

Everything started in 1977. Dave released the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, the first programmable polyphonic synthesizer and the first musical instrument to embed a microprocessor.

Since then, many have been the innovations where Dave had his fundamental role.

He was the driving force of the MIDI spec definition project 1981. He, by the way, was the man to define the acronym.

In 1987 he became a Partner of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) for his continuous activity in the musical synthesis area.

After Sequential, Dave became president of DSD Inc, an R&D Division of Yamaha, where he worked on the physical modeling synthesis and to develop software synthesizers.

Then he started the Korg R&D team in California, producing the Wavestation and other technologies.

He was President of Seer Systems and released the first soft synth for Intel in 1994. The first professional soft synth, Reality, was released in 1997.

Becoming aware of the limits of the software synthesizers, Dave went back to the hardware starting the Company Dave Smith Instruments (DSI) where he released the hybrid (analog/digital) synth Evolver in 2002.

Since then the product catalog grew up to include instruments such as the Prophet-6, the OB-6 (with Tom Oberheim), and the drum machine Tempest (with Roger Linn).

In 2018 DSI was renamed to Sequential, bringing Dave's heritage back to the starting point.

Nowaday a team of talented and dedicated designers carries Dave's heritage on keeping alive the innovation spirit the founder has shown for his entire life.
