RME MADIface XT II

USB 3.0 394 Channel MADI Card, 2 In Mic/Line

RME 's MADIface XT II is a394-channel, 192 kHzUSB 3.0 audio interface with comprehensive connectivity and control options for studio and live work. Compared to the MADIface XT , the MADIface XT II offers upgraded digital and analog circuits and improved performance in both analog and digital domains. TheMADIface XT was the world's first USB 3.0 audio interface and was distinguished by its high channel count, comprehensive connectivity, and compact design. With two mic/line preamplifiers (XLR/TRS combo inputs), two XLR balanced line outputs, a stereo headphone output, various digital signal options (MADI coaxial and optical, MIDI/AES, word clock), and an additional PCI Express connection, theMADIface XT offered complete connectivity.

New analog recordings

TheMADIface XT II maintains this winning formula and improves on the signal values of the previous model. The new model offers a higher signal-to-noise ratio and lower THD in AD conversion. The maximum balanced XLR output level is increased from +15 dBu to +24 dBu. The stereo headphone output offers a level of +19 dBu and, with an impedance of 1 Ohm, higher power. All outputs also have different switchable levels.

New digital circuitry

The new digital board replaces the analog mini-DIN jack for remote control with a USB ARC port, allowing full control of the MADIface XT II with the optional USB ARC. The MADIface XT II also includes Room EQ, with nine parametric bands for surround configurations of up to 20 mono channels.

Femtosecond Clock

With the latest SteadyClock FS, the MADIface XT II offers RME's latest synchronization and jitter reduction technology. Based on femtosecond clocking, SteadyClock FS minimizes intrinsic jitter and filters clock jitter as low as 1 Hz.

New hardware

The newMADIface XT II focuses on USB 3.0, since PCIExpress can no longer be used externally. Class Compliant mode has been improved, allowing simultaneous transmission of all 394 channels without drivers. Various formats and settings are available to optimize the use of Class Compliant mode.
