  • Korg Mono/Poly style X-MOD circuitry
  • Ribbon keyboard with selectable scale
  • Original Analog Filter (VCF) derived from MS-10 and MS-20
  • Aux input for connection/processing of external sources
  • Built-in audio speaker and battery power supply
  • Headphone output

With its two oscillators, the monotron DUO adds an extra gear to the classic monotron sound to create powerful and complex sounds. You can pitch the oscillators in unison for a fuller, more powerful sound, or pitch them with an interval to your liking to create sounds useful in solo parts and/or for creating special, more complex sounds.

The "X-MOD" Cross Modulation circuit derived from the classic Korg Mono/Poly synth allows you to create even more special sounds, from vibrato to extremely metallic sounds that bring FM synthesis to mind.

The ribbon keyboard of the Monotron DUO offers one more function than the other models this one derived from the KAOSSILATOR, you can in fact use a button to select one of the 4 available scales: Chromatic, Major, Minor, or Wide. Select the chromatic one to play like on a classical keyboard, or the major or minor one to play musical phrases by simply swiping your finger across the keyboard, without having to worry about intervals.

The sound of an analog filter (VCF) can enrich and radically alter a timbre. monotron DUO employs the same VCF circuit as the historic KORG MS-10 and MS-20 semi-modular synths. Made 30 years ago, these synthesizers are still highly sought after by analog synthesis enthusiasts today.

The VCF's Cutoff potentiometer lets you select the low-pass filter cutoff point, while the Peak potentiometer controls resonance. A powerful filter is an essential element in any analog synthesizer, allowing you to apply radical changes to the sound during your performances.

Thanks to the mini-jack "Aux In" input available in the monotron Duo's rear panel, you can connect any external audio source, such as a Kaossilator, a guitar, or a CD and/or .mp3 player, to process it through the resonant low-pass filter available in the monotron family products. monotron DUO mounts a small loudspeaker, which coupled with its small size and battery power supply (2 of the AAA type, for about 8 hours of battery life) will allow you to enjoy the functions of the instrument whenever and wherever you are.

A mini-jack output is also available, allowing you to connect to headphones, a mixer, or a sound system.
