Sequential introduces the new Trigon 6 synthesizer
Published on 23/11/2022
Sequential Trigon 6 is a polyphonic analog synthesizer with 6 voices, 3 oscillators specifically designed for the purpose and a ladder low pass filter.
Developed by the Sequential team, Trigon 6 is the last concept that has seen the collaboration of Dave Smith.
The analog sound engine of the Sequential Trigon 6 is complemented by a 4 octaves keyboard (with velocity and aftertouch) and by an arpeggiator and a 64 steps polyphonic sequencer.
The 3 VCOs provide triangle, saw and pulse waves eventually all available at the same time. Further sounds can be provided by a white noise generator.
The ladder filter can be configured as 2 or 4 poles. The 2 ADSR respectively for the filter and the amplifier. Modulations are provided either via an LFO or Poly Mod.
As for the effects, Trigon 6 has a stereo analog distortion, two digital effect processors at 24-bit/48kHz with reverb, delay, chorus, flanger, phase shifter and ring modulator.
6 voices polyphony, easy programmability with every function controlled by a dedicated knob.
Half weighted keyboard (4 octaves) with programmable velocity and aftertouch sensitivity.
What makes the Trigon 6 different from its predecessors is the new VCO section with 3 new oscillators and a configurable VCF ladder that can either be at 2 or 4 poles.
The filter is an improved version of the devices used in the Pro 3 mono synth.
Let’s give a closer look to this synth in the following video:
